The Drayton Valley Landfill has extended its closure and is currently expected to remain closed until Monday, September 7.
While the landfill is not owned or operated by Brazeau County, the closure does affect our waste transfer services. We normally haul waste from our transfer stations to the Drayton Valley Landfill and pay the associated disposal fees.
While it is closed, we are having to haul our waste to an alternate landfill outside of the County. We are unable to accept waste from non-Brazeau County residents or materials outside of our normally accepted waste streams.
Our transfer stations will continue to operate as usual for our residents, within our regular accepted materials.
We know this closure is affecting a lot of people in our region—including us! We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while the necessary repairs are completed.
