FIRE IN THE AREA OF LINDALE, ALBERTA
EVACUATION ORDER – UPDATE #10
BRAZEAU COUNTY, ALBERTA – 1:00 pm The fire situation is ‘being held’; as a result of this and favourable weather conditions, Brazeau County made the decision to lift the evacuation order. However, the State of Local Emergency is still in place and therefore residents and industry within the affected area are being placed on a two-hour evacuation notice.
Further to this, the one-hour evacuation notice for the Birchwood area and residents west of HWY 759 has been lifted.
To enable firefighting operations, road blockages will continue to be in place to provide local access only. Specifically, between RR 60 and RR 55 along TWP 500.
The regulatory speed on TWP 500, between RR 60 and RR 55 will be reduced to 30 km/hour, until further notice.
Further, advisory signage ‘local traffic only’ will be in place for RR 60, situated between TWP 494 and TWP 500 as well as RR 55, situated between TWP 494 and TWP 500.
The Reception Centre, relocated to the Omniplex Curling Lounge, will be winding down throughout the afternoon. However, it will be on standby throughout the weekend.
