EWF038 is located 12 km northeast of Cynthia, 10 km east of highway 753. It is 7 km north of highway 621 on the northeast corner of Sink Hole Lake.
The wildfire is now estimated to be 10 hectares and is now classified as under control, which means that the wildfire has received sufficient suppression action to ensure no further spread.
Firefighters will return tomorrow and continue searching for and extinguishing hotspots.

Fire EWF038, located 12 km northeast of Cynthia, 10 km east of Highway 753, on the northeast corner of Sink Hole Lake, is now estimated to be 10 hectares and is now classified as being held.

Fire EWF038, located 12 km northeast of Cynthia, 10 km east of highway 753, on the northeast corner of Sink Hole Lake, is still estimated to be 16 ha and classified as out of control.
Alberta Wildfire firefighters, helicopters and airtankers responded quickly yesterday. Firefighters will return today to prevent the spread and start searching for and extinguishing hotspots.
A dozer guard around the fire is being completed, and the threat to the structures in the area has been significantly reduced.

There is currently a fire burning in the Edson Forest Area. The fire is estimated at 16 hectares and is classified as out of control. It is 12 km northeast of Cynthia, 10 km east of highway 753, 7 km north of highway 621 on the northeast corner of Sink Hole Lake.
Alberta Wildfire firefighters, helicopters and airtankers are responding. Heavy equipment has been dispatched to the incident.
Brazeau County Drayton Valley Fire Services has been deployed to do structural protection assessments and set up as needed as there are a small number of residences in the area.
There are no evacuation alerts or notices in effect for any areas in the county at this time.
