FIRE RESTRICTION in effect May 8, 2026
Due to the warmer, dry weather conditions over the past week, the Drayton Valley/Brazeau County Fire Services is issuing a Fire Restriction for the area of Brazeau County and the Town of Drayton Valley EFFECTIVE Friday May 8th, at 8:00am. A Fire Restriction occurs when the fire hazard in the area is high to very high. Wildfires can start easily from most causes. Wildfires may become serious and difficult to control if not successfully contained while small.
OUTDOOR BURNING IS ONLY PERMITTED IN APPROVED FIRE PITS OR APPROVED BURNING APPLIANCES.
Existing fire permits are still valid (no permit extensions will be issued)
No new fire permits will be issued until Fire Restriction is Lifted
Allowed:Safe wood campfires in approved fire pits
Portable propane fire pits
Gas or propane stoves and barbecues
Charcoal and pellet barbeques
Catalytic or infrared-style heater
Approved and certified incinerators (for agricultural use)

Bridge/road Closure - Moose Hill Bridge (Effective December 17th, 2025)
Temporary Road Closure – Township Road 482 near Range Road 50 at Modeste Creek (Moose Hill Bridge)
Effective December 17, 2025, Township Road 482 will be closed near Range Road 50 at Modeste Creek (Moose Hill Bridge) between Range Road 50 and Range Road 44A. The bridge will be fully closed; however, local traffic may access the road up to the bridge from both directions.
A detour route has been established to help maintain traffic flow.
This closure is required for public safety while the County assesses next steps for the bridge.
