2021 Municipal Election

The 2021 Municipal Election will be held Monday, October 18, 2021. Voting will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at voting stations in each of Brazeau County’s six divisions. Electors will vote for the position of Reeve and for a councillor to represent the division they live in.
In conjunction with the municipal election, voters will also be able to cast their ballots in school board elections for Wild Rose School Division and STAR Catholic schools, and the provincial Senate election.


Brazeau County Council has appointed Donna Palmer as the Returning Officer for the 2021 Municipal Election. The Returning Officer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the municipal election as set out in the Local Authorities Election Act. The Returning Officer is available to answer questions about the 2021 Municipal Election for electors or candidates.

Brazeau County will be looking for workers as Election Day gets closer. Workers must be 18+, able to attend a mandatory training session in the fall and be available to work from 9 a.m. until all the ballots are counted on Election Day. Positions will be available at voting stations in each division, as well as for advance votes that will be held prior to Election Day.  Workers are paid for training as well as Election Day or advance votes.
