CAO Report

As the leaves start to turn their lovely autumn shades and the chill starts to come into the breeze, Administration in Brazeau County is already heavily into budget preparation season. As I mentioned previously, I would like to highlight a department in each of these messages and this issue is devoted to Corporate Services. As most of you are aware budget meetings are open to the public and we encourage residents to come watch as Council considers their projects and priorities for the 2019 year.

To accompany and enhance our Resident First Policy; Administration will be presenting a budget document that is more user friendly, not just for Council and those who are able to attend budget meetings, but for all of our citizens. We anticipate this common sense approach to presenting the annual budget will make it easier for people to find the information they really want to see and assist in answering questions and understanding how and why the dollars are spent.

The draft budget will be made available through the Brazeau County website, as well as in hard copy at our administration office closer to Council budget deliberations meetings which are scheduled for November 13, 14, 15, 16 and November 26, 29 and 30 should the later dates be required.

As always, my door is open should any of you have concerns or questions.

Kind Regards,

Jocelyn Whaley
