Brazeau County Renews State of Local Emergency

Brazeau County has renewed its State of Local Emergency (SOLE) due to the wildfire. A SOLE provides municipalities with a wide range of powers within their municipal boundaries that are normally unavailable or limited under the Municipal Government Act, such as enacting an emergency plan.

States of Local Emergency expire after 7 days, and it was renewed because the wildfire is still a threat. The SOLE is separate from the evacuation order and the evacuation notice.
