FIRE UPDATE 10 PM MAY 5

The evacuation order remains in effect this evening for residents in the following area: from Township 482 North to Township 494 and Range Road 64 West to Range Road 90. This includes the entire community of Drayton Valley.

We are working to establish a registration system for all of our evacuees. We anticipate having the system up and running tomorrow morning.

Incident management teams and operational crews have been working hard throughout the duration of the incident. Weather changes and wind shifts have created an extremely dynamic situation. There are multiple fires burning across several counties with numerous evacuations in place. Resources have been difficult to acquire province wide and management teams are working around the clock to make necessary arrangements.
