RR64/ Buck Creek fire update
10:30 a.m. May 4, 2023
- The evacuation order has been lifted, but residents in the area north of Township Road 482 and South of Highway 39, and West of Range Road 64 and East of Highway 22 remain on evacuation notice
- Evacuees returning to their homes will be required to show documentation from the reception centre to gain access
- The reception centre at the MacKenzie Conference Centre will remain open
- The fire has been contained, but remains an active scene. The public is asked to stay away from the area.
- Drayton Valley/Brazeau County fire crews and equipment continue to work to extinguish the fire and monitor for hotspots
- The fire is approximately 140 hectares in size
- Highway 22 is open
- Township Road 484 between Highway 22 and Range Road 64 is closed
