Recreation Facility Openings Delayed until June 1, 2020

BRAZEAU COUNTY, APRIL 17, 2020 — Brazeau County is taking the COVID-19 pandemic seriously and considers the health and wellbeing of residents, visitors, and staff to be of the utmost importance.
Due to the spread of COVID-19 as well as federal and provincial restrictions, Brazeau County is delaying the opening of the following facilities until June 1, 2020:
 Willey West campground
 Pih-to-kwe Campground
 Easyford Park Campground
 Modeste Creek Campground
 Lodgepole Campground
 Easyford Community Centre
 Lindale Rodeo Grounds
 Brazeau Sports Park
 Sardine Lake day use area
Brazeau County has notified operators and recreation groups of this delayed opening. All group camping patrons whose reservations are impacted will be automatically refunded.
“Brazeau County is gorgeous year round, especially in the summer,” says Director of Community Services Lee Chambers. “No one wants to be cooped up when they could be in beautiful Brazeau nature, so we don’t make the decision lightly. The health and safety of all residents and visitors come first, so we’ve had to take this step for right now to protect everyone.”
While the current anticipated opening of these facilities is June 1, the County encourages all recreation groups and all residents to practice physical distancing and follow other federal and provincial public health guidelines and orders, including a restriction on gatherings of 15 or more people.
