The Public Works Department of Brazeau County deals with the construction and maintenance of infrastructure within the County, environmental services, and Road Bans. The Department handles such things as road construction and access approaches, development of County road allowances, gravel, road maintenance, ditching and approaches, overweight permits, dust control, flood control, and snow removal. The Public Works Department also ensures ditches and roadsides are maintained in clean condition.
The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 1,200 km of roadways, including 885 km of rural gravel roads, 68 km of surfaced roadways, street maintenance in six hamlets, and 24 country residential subdivisions. You can review some of these capital projects here.
