Brazeau County/Drayton Valley Fire Services

A Message From The Fire Chief

“The funny thing about firemen is, night and day, they are always firemen.”  ~Gregory Widen, Backdraft

It is as the quote describes the reality of life that members of the Drayton Valley/Brazeau County Fire Services face in their daily lives. They don’t grumble or complain but carry on the tasks asked of them. It is not an easy job and requires a special person to do it. I am often stopped on the street by members of the community who often confess that they could not do what these individuals do. And it is just this ideal that makes me extremely honored to work alongside the 60 men and women that make up the Drayton Valley/Brazeau County Fire Services.

Working out of three halls in Lodgepole, Breton and Drayton Valley, this group of highly talented individuals provide service to approximately 15 000 people in an area approximately 3000 square kilometers. Responding to roughly 250 calls a year the Drayton Valley/Brazeau County Fire Services works hard at providing the best service possible for the citizens of Drayton Valley and Brazeau County.

Our full-time staff which includes a Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Maintenance Coordinator,  and Admin Support are committed to not only providing top-notch emergency care, but are dedicated to making our community safer by providing a comprehensive inspection, investigation, and fire prevention program.  Home of the future BIO-MILE, we are a vibrant and progressive department that flourishes in a knowledge based environment and are always looking for new ways of doing things.

I am extremely proud of the men and women that make up this department and consider it a blessing to be surrounded by such a dedicated group of individuals that provide this vital service on a daily basis.
