Economic Development

The Economic Development Department offers facilitation and information services to the existing businesses within Brazeau County, including seminars and upcoming events of interest to the various industry sectors. These services also include business attraction and marketing of the County through the website and other marketing materials. Statistical information is compiled and updated, and made available to business operators in the region.

The major industries that support the economy in Brazeau County include oil and gas, forestry, agriculture, and tourism. With the labour shortage currently being experienced in Alberta, area employment opportunities also exist in Drayton Valley & Brazeau County for all types of skilled and unskilled tradespeople in these, and other industries.

The Economic Development Department promotes business growth, and assists with developing new business opportunities that will provide employment and other benefits to Brazeau County residents. This includes addressing emerging markets and the new realities of international commerce, offering training programs, as well as providing information for residents interested in investing in the tourism industry.
