The Economic Development Department of Brazeau County is progressive and award winning with focus on Business Attraction, Business Retention & Community Sustainability strategies.  Our Business Visitation Plan/Import Replacement Survey has been duplicated by many other economic development organizations around the Province. We offer our Brazeau County Businesses free marketing through our website Business Directory and our Home Based & Agriculture Busienss Directory.  Our services to our businesses include referral services and annual networking opportunities.

With a solid industry based of oil & gas, forestry and agriculture, we are working with the emerging industries of tourism and bio fuels.

EARN (Employee Attraction & Retention Network)

In partnership with Community Futures Capital Region, Norquest College, Careers Next Generation, Pembina Area Operators Group (PAOG), Town of Drayton Valley and funding partner, Alberta Human Services - Alberta Works, Brazeau County is once again hosting a series of Employee Attraction and Retention Network (EARN) business breakfast sessions. The EARNetwork is a way for stakeholders in the community to come together to network, engage and receive information about the challenges we face with employee attraction and retention in our workforce. The first of this series was held on March 26,2013 at the MacKenzie Conference Centre, providing those in the audience information about attracting, engaging and maintaining an Aboriginal Workforce, one of Alberta's fastest growing labour force.  Click here to view speaker, Derek Bruno's presentation.

The next EARNetwork breakfast session will be held on
April 30th, 2013, with the topic of Women in the Workforce’. Doors open at 7:15am with breakfast at 7:30am and discussions to commence at 8:00am.
