A delegation from Breton attended the meeting to request assistance in constructing a new track and field located at the Breton High School.  A motion was passed to assist the community with their grant writing.

A delegation from the Drayton Valley Golf Club attended the meeting to request a tax exemption.  Administration will be presenting a report at the December 6th Council meeting.

Tammy Thirsk and Austen Radowitz attended the meeting to promote anti-bullying.  Council passed a motion to sign a proclamation in support of anti-bullying in the County.

Three Area Structure Plans were approved for South Rocky Rapids, Riverview and Poplar Ridge as well as the Municipal Development Plan in order to bring all of the planning documents into compliance with the new Inter-municipal Development Plan.  As a result, the Town of Drayton Valley has withdrawn all of their appeals.

The Childcare Participation Exploration report and the request from the Eagle Point Park Trails Association for the construction of a walking path and access road were referred to the 2012 Budget deliberations.

Hawkings Epp Dumont LLP was appointed as the auditors for the 2011 annual audit.

Council received a request from the Town of Drayton Valley for Public Works and Infrastructure to provide maintenance services for the annexed area.  Council passed a motion to provide road maintenance services on a full cost recovery basis using predetermined unit rates for the annexed area as requested by the Town.

Council declined a request from the Town of Drayton Valley for Capital Cost sharing to develop new lots at the airport.  Council concurred with Administration that the first priority for the airport should be to ensure that it is operationally safe.

Council received a request for street lights in the Bohnella Business Park.  Administration will research and prepare a cost estimate for Council’s review.

The County will be closed for business on November 28th to begin the move to the new building.

Hours of Operation through the Christmas season will be as follows: closed at noon December 23rd and 30th; closed December 26th, December 27th and January 2, 2012. 

The next regular Council meetings are December 6, 2011 and January 17, 2012.

2012 Budget meetings have been scheduled for 9:00 am on November 28, November 30, December 7 and December 12, 2011 in the new Administration building.
