Reeve Wes Tweedle presented Bill Leclerc with a long service award for his 5 years with Brazeau County as a grader operator.

Marty Prentice, Courtney Whalen and Pam Baker attended the meeting to update Council regarding the Eleanor Pickup Performing Arts Centre. The delegation requested that Council give consideration during upcoming budget discussions for $500,000 towards the Centre.

Three bylaws received final readings: 762-11 (rezoning); 763-11 (rezoning to Direct Control); and 766-11 (additional uses to Industrial District). In addition, first reading was granted to Bylaw 767-11 a rezoning application for a gravel operation.

Policy PD-9 Certificates of Compliance was amended and approved. The County will not accept Real Property Reports older than 10 years.

Public Works policy PW-16 formerly called the Capital/Infrastructure Project Priority Rating was renamed the Equipment Replacement Program and amended so that the timing for replacement of each piece of equipment corresponds with warranty periods or the shop’s experienced knowledge on the amount of productive, low-maintenance life left on any particular piece of equipment.

Council passed a motion to accept the lowest and only tender and award the RR 42 – Funnell Road project to Prairie Erectors Int’l Inc. at $1,046,171.60 (plus GST).

Three requests for road construction were added to the master road request list for future consideration and cost evaluation.

A delegation of residents attended the meeting and voiced their concerns regarding safety issues on Hwy. 616 when they are moving farm equipment and requested that RR 474 be upgraded as an alternate route. Public Works will research the options and related costs for discussion during budget deliberations.

Council scheduled the Tax Recovery Auction for November 9, 2011.
