Council

The residents of Brazeau County are represented by a Council made up of six Councillors from six divisions plus an elected Reeve. They serve a three year term; the current term is from 2007 to 2010.

County Council is elected every three years to work on behalf of ratepayers to create new infrastructure, deliver sustainable services, and to respond to current issues in the Brazeau County area. Some of these issues are related each year in the Annual Report.

County Council meets once or twice a month and their schedule is located on the Brazeau County Website Calendar. Copies of meeting agendas and minutes are available online.

Councillors serve on various Committees and Boards with County residents, including the Agriculture Service Board and Municipal Planning Commission. They also serve on various Agencies and Joint Municipal Boards, such as Aspen Waste Management Authority, Pembina Valley Regional Ambulance Authority. There are also several Ad-Hoc Committees that have Council representatives on them, including FCSS, Grande Alberta Economic Region, and Weyerhaeuser Forest Advisory.

Your Council members are firm believers in keeping in close touch with the people they are privileged to represent. They encourage input and feedback from their constituents. Together, we're building a future of which we can all be proud.
