Brazeau County Council ratifies letters of concern regarding Bill 6

At its meeting on November 30, 2015 Brazeau County Councillors ratified support for three letters expressing concerns over the implications of Bill 6: The Enhanced Protection of Farm and Ranch Workers Act.

County Councillors endorsed a statement by Reeve Bart Guyon outlining concerns raised by our agricultural community over the Province's introduction of Bill 6. That statement will be sent to all municipalities in Alberta on behalf of Brazeau County Council. Read the statement here

Council also ratified support for a letter being submitted to Alberta Premier Rachel Notley on behalf of the Brazeau County Agricultural Services Board. Read the draft letter here

Finally, Brazeau County Councillors voted to ratify support for a letter to Minister of Jobs, Skills, Traning and Labour Lori Sigurdson from the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties, asking the Province to devote additional time to the consultation period for Bill 6.
